Christine Eum

HCI  +  Product  + Design

About

I’m passionate about creating, reaching, caring, and giving something more every day.

I am inspired by life, travel, people and thoughtful designs. I am experienced in all aspects and levels of creating amazing products and relevant design and research skills.

Work

After graduating with a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons,
I spent a decade building a successful career in the fashion industry, launching new brands three times, twice as a founder.
As my career evolved with increasing involvement in e-commerce,
I became more intrigued by the users than the products themselves, leading me to pursue a master's degree in HCI and Design.
I am now a Senior Product/UX Manager for the Baskin Robbins

and Dunkin Donuts brands.

My Current Role
I am a Product/UX Manager for the Baskin Robbins and Dunkin Donuts brands, focusing on their owned digital platforms.
Recent projects include the redesign of the Baskin Robbins kiosk, launched in May 2024, which improved usability by reducing the order process time by 29%. I am currently leading the development of accessible digital products, including mobile apps, websites, and kiosks for both brands, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2 and NIA standards, with a launch expected in August 2024.

Baskin Robbins - Accessibility Design

In response to the Disability Discrimination Act, I led the product team in developing accessible designs for Baskin Robbins' digital platforms, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.0 standards, beginning with the restaurant kiosks. Launched in August 2024, the product included key accessibility features such as screen readers, high contrast mode, and magnifying mode.

Baskin Robbins - Kiosk Redesign

As Senior Manager of UX, I led the complete design and research overhaul of the Baskin Robbins kiosk, the first renewal since 2010. I conducted extensive quantitative and qualitative research, iterating the design based on key insights. The final product, launched in May 2024, significantly improved usability by reducing order process time by 29% and increasing loyalty membership participation by 70%.

Code.org - Website Redesign

Code.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to computer science education in schools and increasing participation among young women and students from underrepresented groups. As part of a five-month capstone project with the MHCID program at UC Irvine, our team partnered with Code.org, where I served as the Design Lead, applying design thinking skills to support their mission.

Apartments.com- usability testing

To enhance the browsing experience for renters on Apartments.com, our MHCID team conducted a heuristic evaluation and competitive analysis. Based on the issues identified, we performed and analyzed three types of usability testing: card sorting, quantitative testing, and qualitative testing.
